SUMMARY:Driven by Data: Accountability Measures for DEI Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:A sustainable diversity\, equity and inclusion strategy requires metrics that allow HR and talent professionals to help business leaders understand the current state of DEI within their organization\, track its progress and stay accountable to established DEI goals. And yet\, the 2021 Gartner Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion Functional Benchmarking Survey found less than half of HR leaders are confident in their organization’s ability to create accountability measures for DEI outcomes. \nWhat metrics will show the most cohesive picture of your DEI strategy? What thought should be given to the differences between the three components of diversity\, equity and inclusion and how they interconnect? And finally\, what legal and ethical considerations should be kept in mind when tracking representation data?

SUMMARY:Bridging the Digital Skills Gap in a Digital-First Workplace
DESCRIPTION:The enterprise of today places greater emphasis on efficiency and productivity. In a workplace increasingly reliant on software\, this is driven by employees’ interaction with a myriad of applications they use to get their work done. A majority of L&D leaders recognize this has also led to a growing digital skills gap in the workforce. \nTo create high-performing teams\, L&D leaders need to demonstrate that learning can result in improved performance during a digital transformation. While upskilling the hybrid or remote workforce is crucial\, it must be integrated seamlessly to avoid disruptions in daily activities. Continuous learning that is personalized at scale and connects end-to-end processes beyond individual tasks or actions should be provided to deliver integrated experiences that increase productivity. \nThis session will discuss ideas on how L&D can implement workflow learning to bridge the digital skills gap and help in creating high-performing teams with better efficiency and productivity.

SUMMARY:Journey to the Metaverse
DESCRIPTION:The metaverse means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Some say it’s the blending of the digital and the real worlds\, or the augmentation of experience with a digital layer. For learning\, it can allow people to practice (even tasks or roles that are rare\, dangerous or expensive) in collaborative digital environments\, from the comfort and safety of their own home or workplace. It can bring information to people in the flow of work\, and it allows the practice of both hard skills and more human skills\, such as empathy. \nBut the metaverse is still shrouded in mystery for many\, especially those who aren’t sure where to begin their journey. From those who are toeing the start line to those who are farther along the trek\, how are L&D leaders leveraging immersive technologies to further their learning efforts? And how do you determine when it’s the right option for learning — and when it’s not?

SUMMARY:To Buy Or To Build\, That Is The L&D Question
DESCRIPTION:In today’s environment\, L&D teams are often tasked with accomplishing more\, with fewer resources. Nearly every organization needs to cut costs\, yet training is still a necessity\, for both mandatory topics\, and retaining and investing in talent. Investing in off-the-shelf content can help L&D do more with less\, but it can be hard to decide when it’s best to buy. \nIn this webinar\, Ashley Brown\, Senior Customer Success Manager\, will cover some common questions (and answers!) that emerge when developing a buy vs build strategy in L&D. This webinar will help you develop the best plan for your organization\, based on your learner needs and company capabilities. \nToday we will go over:\n• What types of training are best to build vs. purchase off the shelf?\n• What content areas can (and perhaps should) be purchased off the shelf?\n• Key questions to ask when making a buy vs. build decision.\n• Benefits of investing in off-the-shelf content.\n• Are buying or building our only two options?

SUMMARY:Building Great Leaders: The Manager's Role in Employee Engagement
DESCRIPTION:Your organization is only as strong as its weakest manager. The manager is the driving force behind employees’ personal and professional development\, the fearless leader of hybrid/remote teams and everything in between. But perhaps most importantly\, managers have a huge impact on employee engagement\, and ultimately can be the major factor in an employee’s decision to stay with an organization or leave. To quote Marcus Buckingham\, “People leave managers\, not companies.” \nAccording to Dale Carnegie’s “2022 Employee Engagement Survey\,” 38 percent of the 6\,500 full-time employee respondents said they had confidence in their immediate manager. How can L&D programs most effectively help managers gain the skills and resources they need to successfully lead and engage their teams in this new era of work? And\, how can you\, as their leader\, play a part in your managers’ development?

SUMMARY:6 Essential Skills Your Team Needs To Succeed
DESCRIPTION:At Section\, we’ve partnered with more than 150 companies to develop and retain high performers. We’ve found that successful L&D programs share one characteristic: FOCUS. When employees are presented with too many courses\, they simply don’t engage with them. Completion rates are low and impact to the business is zero. Instead\, we recommend focusing on 5–10 skills that are essential to your company’s success. \nBut what should those skills be? \nWe surveyed 10\,000 high performers to find out what they want to learn in 2023 and in this webinar we reveal what they said. \nLearning Outcomes:\n• The six skills that high performers say they need to be successful. \n• How to get current and future high performers (your busiest employees) to engage in learning. \n• Why transforming ICs and managers into high performers has outsized impact and ROI for your business.

SUMMARY:Owning the Leadership Role: Learning Leaders’ Expanding Skillsets
DESCRIPTION:The upheaval and challenges of the pandemic\, the move to hybrid work and the push for big upskilling and internal mobility initiatives have finally given L&D leaders the seat at the table they’ve long been seeking. They are being tasked with larger\, more complicated strategic challenges\, and this requires them to develop their own personal skills in some areas alongside their more traditional L&D skills\, particularly data and decision-making\, leadership\, core business skills and more\, according to 2022 RedThread research\, “Future-proofing L&D: Developing the Right Skills.” \nWith expanding responsibilities and the pressure to deliver results\, how are L&D leaders prioritizing their own skills development and the development of their L&D teams?

SUMMARY:Talent Transformation: The Role of Learning in the Drive To Develop\, Engage\, and Retain
DESCRIPTION:How can we attract\, develop\, engage\, and retain our people? How does learning fit into the modern talent ecosystem? And\, what are the learning touchpoints and pillars that really matter? Last year we brought together some of our most innovative L&D leaders to answer these questions. And together we developed a picture of the core touchpoints that we can use to drive talent transformation. \nJoin Andrew Joly\, Director of Strategic Design\, and Ella Richardson\, Global Head of Consulting & Experience Design\, as they share our findings\, and challenge and explore the critical learning pillars for talent.

SUMMARY:Building a Coachability Culture: A New Catalyst for Impact
DESCRIPTION:In recent years\, organizations have invested heavily in building coaching cultures. One of the most robust recent global studies cites nearly $3 billion dollars spent annually for organizational coaching initiatives\, such as coach-skills training for managers. To maximize the impact of coaching practices and cultures\, some innovative and dynamic organizations are starting to add a new catalyst for improvement by investing in the coachability of leaders and the workforce. \nPrompting these increased investments is a rapidly growing body of research highlighting the great value of coachability for organizational effectiveness. For example\, highly coachable leaders have been found to foster greater levels of employee engagement and retention. Across employees (i.e.\, leaders and individual contributors)\, research shows highly coachable individuals achieve significantly higher levels of performance\, agility\, and promotability. In fact\, one study indicated coachability matters more than the coaching skills of the manager for learning\, performance\, and agility. As such\, the impact of focusing on coaching without coachability may prove costly. Investing in workforce coachability can be a catalyst to complement organizational improvement initiatives\, such as coaching practices\, leadership bench-building\, DEI training\, and workforce upskilling.

SUMMARY:Collaboration Equity in a Hybrid World
DESCRIPTION:Collaboration looks different for every organization\, and it looks different overall than it did three years ago\, as many more companies are implementing permanent hybrid work models. While the flexibility of hybrid work can be a great benefit\, it complicates how we collaborate\, communicate and contribute in the workplace. \nIn 2020\, Google coined the term “collaboration equity\,” which it described as “the ability to contribute equally\, regardless of location\, role\, experience level\, language and device preference.” As hybrid and remote work models remain in place\, and are likely permanent in many cases\, how are you reimagining collaboration among your workforce for the long term and creating your own framework for collaboration equity?

SUMMARY:An Interview with Julia Boorstin\, Author of “When Women Lead”: Counterintuitive and Important Lessons for all Leaders
DESCRIPTION:Julia Boorstin was 13 when her mother told her that\, by the time she grew up\, women could be just as powerful as men: “captains of industry\, running the biggest companies.” Unfortunately\, when it comes to gender equity\, conditions have not changed as much as her mother had hoped. But female leaders all over the world are succeeding\, not in spite of but because of their unique strengths and personality traits. They’re defying the odds. What can we learn from them? \nIn “When Women Lead: What They Achieve\, Why They Succeed\, and How We Can Learn from Them\,” Boorstin\, TV reporter and creator of CNBC’s Disruptor 50 franchise\, shares her groundbreaking and deeply reported narrative work incorporating the stories of hundreds of female executives. It reveals the counterintuitive\, against-all-odds approaches of women running the world’s most innovative (and successful) companies — and what we can learn from them. \nWhether you’re a woman looking to rise in your organization or taking on a new leadership position or a male leader looking to empower women in your organization\, “When Women Lead” is a radical blueprint for the future of business.

SUMMARY:A Marathon\, Not a Sprint: Examining the DEI Journey
DESCRIPTION:Over the past several years\, particularly in North America\, there has been a more widespread awakening to the many inequities and inequalities present in all areas of society\, including our workplaces. In 2020\, many organizations pledged a stronger commitment to DEI efforts and establishing an inclusive workplace culture. SUMMARY:Killing Complexity - Why Simple Wins
DESCRIPTION:Why are we all so busy but feel like nothing gets done? Unproductive meetings\, endless emails\, and reports-for-the-sake-of-reporting aren’t the definition of meaningful work—they’re the result of complexity. Get the techniques used by Netflix\, Google\, Pfizer and others to save time\, kill rules\, and boost productivity. By killing complexity\, you’ll increase customer trust\, staff retention\, and innovate faster.

SUMMARY:Transformative Conversations: Steps to Organizational Change
DESCRIPTION:As a result of volatile economic conditions\, business leaders are forced to implement organizational transformations to remain competitive. When leaders drive these complex transformations from the top down without asking their employees for critical feedback\, they are often unsuccessful. To move forward and lead change\, senior leadership must engage their workforce in conversation and discuss the silent barriers to effectiveness and a healthy culture. \nThis webinar features Alan Todd\, General Manager of cohort learning at Udemy Business\, and Mike Beer\, Ph.D.\, Harvard Professor Emeritus and the Strategic Fitness Process inventor. As part of the webinar\, Beer will demonstrate how managers in hundreds of organizations have led organizational-wide honest conversations that have led to dramatic improvements in trust\, commitment\, and performance.

SUMMARY:How The Metaverse Is Transforming Cohort-Based Learning
DESCRIPTION:Nearly three years into a major shift to a virtual delivery model for learning programs\, we’ve embraced virtual environments like Zoom and Teams. But both L&D leaders and learners have recognized the limitations of those platforms\, particularly around creating a learning environment that not only feels like an in-person classroom\, but also offers the flexibility and networking options of one. Enter the metaverse. \nJoin Learning and Development experts Karl Kapp\, Professor of Instructional Design at Bloomsburg University\, and Luke Owings\, VP of Product at Abilitie as they discuss how metaversal platforms are uniquely suited to transform virtual deliveries of learning programs. They’ll explore the unique advantage the metaverse offers for learning\, how it is better suited to keep participants engaged through more meaningful conversation and interaction\, and how it leverages the most beneficial parts of in-person learning.
