SUMMARY:Horizontal vs. Vertical Career Pathing: How to Make Promotions Work
DESCRIPTION:Receiving a promotion is the epitome of an employee’s growth and success\, but many companies are misusing promotions. As high performers reach their peak\, they’re being promoted to managers solely based on performance. This type of career pathing is creating a domino effect in companies. The newly promoted managers often do not have the skillset to manage\, therefore their employees become disengaged and your bottom line starts suffering more and more. How can we stop this domino effect from happening? \nJoin Tiffany Kummer from BizLibrary as she explains her strategy for career pathing using two different approaches\, vertical and horizontal. Not everyone is meant to manage (or wants to)\, and that is okay. Tiffany will show you how you can still advance your high performers without putting them and your company in an unfavorable position. \nDuring the webinar\, you’ll learn: \nHow to identify the skillsets of high performers vs. potential managers\nThe dangers of only offering one path for all employees\nSteps to create unique development plans for new managers and high performers

SUMMARY:Utilizing ‘Virtual Reality Training’ and Showing a Return on Investment
DESCRIPTION:As training professionals\, it is challenging to bring in new technology due to cost and skepticism about the value of unproved technologies. It is a complex field and there are considerations you have to be aware of before investing on any new virtual reality program. \nIn this podcast I discuss why we chose to go with VR training as opposed to artificial intelligence\, and how we solved a business problem and were able to show a sizable return on investment. I will also show an unexpected addition to ROI which added strongly to the return of investment in the new technology. \nVR will become part of training programs in the foreseeable future. With this podcast you will have a better understanding of how to choose what’s right for you\, how to promote it within the organization and how to manage expectations and concerns relating to the transfer of learning. \nLearning Objectives: \nWhy virtual reality can add value to your training portfolio.\nHow to choose the right supplier.\nPromoting the concept in the organization.\nShowing the ROI value.

SUMMARY:How to Operationalize Reskilling Efforts with a Human Approach and an ROI
DESCRIPTION:For as long as we’ve all been at work\, CEOs and boards have referred to people as their “most important asset.” But today we can no longer “reference”. Now we must act. In this webinar\, you’ll learn about seismic forces culminating into an urgent need for organizations to reskill the workforce—and to do so with a tangibly human approach. You’ll learn about how to skill the workforce operationally and efficiently resulting in a “flow of work” learning culture by hearing examples of how other companies are succeeding. Further\, you will gain an understanding for how to tie operationally efficient learning to performance and productivity. \nUnderstand the five seismic forces driving an urgent need for reskilling.\nGain an understanding for how to approach reskilling in such a way that meets people where they are and then inspires and empowers them to achieve their own goals alongside those of the organization.\nHear how other companies are operationalizing this approach to learning and tying the results to improved performance and productivity.

SUMMARY:CLO Breakfast Club – Atlanta 2020
DESCRIPTION:The concern shown by everyone as we all grapple with the challenges of the coronavirus underlines how special the people who make up the Chief Learning Officer community are. Over the last two weeks\, we have been working through options as we monitor the situation. One thing that is clear is how important it is to bring people together\, support one another and share ideas and practices to get us through the time ahead.\nAfter much consideration\, we have decided the best option to serve our community is to postpone the upcoming Breakfast Club Event. We will keep our audiences posted as to new times and dates for all Breakfast Club events. Thanks you!

SUMMARY:Here Come the Machines? How HR Leaders Think about and are Preparing for the Impact of AI & Automation on their Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Though there is little disagreement about whether or not advances in AI and automation will affect the global economy over the next five years\, the specifics of which industries will be hit the hardest and the identification of the jobs that will no longer be needed and which will be created is still unclear. To determine how organizations are preparing for the impending – though uncertain – impact of machines on their workforce\, we surveyed 500 US-based HR and L&D leaders about their thoughts on AI & automation and their industries\, organizations\, and employees. Results include data related to the predicted displacement of workers in various sectors and differently-sized organizations and the steps – if any – that companies are taking to prepare. These findings are examined in the context of other research exploring the views of workers themselves and their expectations for employers. \nLearning Objectives \nGain an understanding of the ways in which AI and automation are believed to impact different industries and organizations of various sizes\nExamine how organizations are addressing the integration of new technologies\nDiscuss strategies for displaced employees and the logic behind upskilling strategies in advance

SUMMARY:People Leader Basics: Delivering People Leader Training to a Global Audience
DESCRIPTION:As individual contributors transition into people leaders\, many companies are not properly equipping their employees with foundational leadership training. In fact\, 87 percent of managers surveyed wished they had received more training when becoming a leader\, according to a 2016 by Grovo. Those that do provide training often rely on online self-training that may prove difficult to their day-to-day operations. In this webinar\, you will learn how we went from a traditional classroom-led new leader training to a six month interactive blended learning experience. \nLeveraging this model\, we have been able to: \nProvide new leaders with opportunity to develop their leadership skills and provide a safe space to practice key moments that matter.\nDrive greater efficiency and effectiveness in facilitation while reducing costs.\nDeliver standardized training experience at scale and globally.

SUMMARY:Should Leadership Development Stop?
DESCRIPTION:Leaders sitting in a classroom setting to learn about how to be strategic\, have difficult conversations or communicate better isn’t sticking. And sending a leader away to an executive education program is limited in its value at best. Creating a new and better path forward means challenging the ideas of how we develop leaders. Creating better leaders means creating a better Leadership Development approach! \nSo throw out the old and accept this invitation to have Jennifer Mackin challenge Learning Officers and all leaders to think differently about how their companies develop people and prepare them for what’s ahead. When leaders feel that they are fully prepared\, true transformational change is just around the corner. \nWe live in a crazy\, constantly changing world and getting people ready for that “crazy” is what will separate the top from the bottom organizations. Jennifer will address how to rewire our development of people and organizations. Specifically\, she will address: \nThe new path to leaders ROI: why development isn’t working and the direct connection of business victories and people victories\nThe Four Principals for Leadership Development to fix it\nThe exact recipe for baking leadership development into the DNA of your organization\nThe only question to ask yourself is\, “Am I ready for this?

SUMMARY:Empowering People to Lead in Teams When They’re Not the Boss
DESCRIPTION:Many progressive organizations are addressing talent mobility and career growth opportunities by giving their people opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to tackle big projects or company initiatives. It’s a great way to leverage and grow their skills\, especially within flatter organizations\, where the career ladder isn’t always an option. Pulling together diverse expertise across various work styles – from fulltime to remote to gig – across time zones and cultures to solve business challenges creates greater talent agility to meet the rapid pace of change in the digital workplace\, but it can also pose challenges. \nWhen work is done independent of org charts and reporting lines\, it becomes mission critical that your people are enabled to lead through influence rather than authority. Often for individuals to succeed and grow in today’s organizations\, they are being called upon to be a leader when they aren’t THE Leader. It sounds hard and perhaps even complicated. But what if leading without a title was actually simpler than it seems? \nJoin Saba and Leadership Expert Susan Mazza to discover practical approaches for HR leaders to enable managers and employees\, with easy to apply tips for elevating leadership skills\, with or without a title. \nKey Learning Takeaways: \nDiscover the 3 myths of leading without a title\, and where to focus people instead to help them be better leaders at any level.\nLearn the 3 components of leading effectively along with a specific practice for each that you can enable your teams to use immediately within your company.\nExplore practical examples and the global nuances of how you can support your managers and people in leading more effectively without a title.\nRegister now to learn how to empower your people to lead effectively at any level!

SUMMARY:Finding Solutions to 4 Problems L&D Can Solve: Engagement\, Content\, Compliance\, and Onboarding
DESCRIPTION:Improving employee learning and development is the most important issue (86%) in human resources today according to the 2019 Global Human Capital Trends Report from Deloitte. However\, while L&D is the area of greatest concern due to the changing nature of work\, only 10% of respondents said their organizations are “very ready” to address it. Why is there such a gaping disparity between importance and readiness when it comes to employee development? \nThe problem is that work doesn’t stop to make time for transformation. Even the best-laid talent development plans get regularly sidetracked by day-to-day business realities. If an L&D team hopes to be a meaningful part of the future of work within their organization\, they must address the challenges that constantly inhibit their practices. Before L&D can transform\, they must find new ways to solve familiar problems\, including engagement\, content\, compliance and onboarding. \nThis webinar will provide practical insights on: \nInspiring employees to engage in continuous learning\nMaking better content development decisions\nTackling compliance beyond just checking boxes\nFixing your onboarding strategy once and for all
